NEW SPACE – Z2O – Via della Vetrina 21 Roma

Z2O Galleria | Sara Zanin Z2O Galleria | Sara Zanin is pleased to announce the opening of the new space in via della Vetrina 21 with the solo exhibition of Kaarina Kaikkonen. The Finnish artist, at her second solo exhibition at the gallery will realize a project specifically designed for the new venue, using old clothes, bearers of stories and anonymous memory, that are the element that mostly distinguishes her research. Kaarina’ s intervention consists in two parts, the first part is an installation entitled The Queen of the Night realized only with women shoes cut in various forms and applied on the walls of the gallery in order to form almost natural elements. The second part consists in a series of sculptural works realized with second hand men clothes, whose material consistency recalls a strong human presence. In both cases the boundaries between sculpture and installation give space to forms and images that redefine the environment and the things according to new visual models. Kaarina’ s project will continue in Italy with other two prestigious stages: the Maramotti Collection and the MAXXI. The first stage, the 25 February at the Maramotti Collection in Reggio Emilia, consists in a big site specific installation thought for the ex-factory of clothes Max Mara (now venue of the collection). The second stage in April in the square of the MAXXI – National Museum of the arts of XXI century in Rome, where the artist will realize a second big site specific installation. All three projects were born with the patronage and in collaboration with the Embassy of Finland in Rome. On the occasion of the relocation Z2O Galleria | Sara Zanin will be co-directed by Sara Zanin and Micol Veller. The project is supported by the Finnish Embassy in Rome

Among the novelties of 2012 Z2O Galleria | Sara Zanin will be co-directed by Sara Zanin and Micol Veller.
