The project THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME dedicates its sixth edition to Rome, in a place that metaphorically embodies the complexity of a city stratified, full of tensions and generating visions: along Via del Mandrione, at number 347, inside a large building, farmer factory of Chinotto Neri and more recently home to a historic boxing gym, a group of artists - Sonia Andresano, Josè Angelino, Elena Bellantoni, Paolo Canevari, Stefano Canto, Simona Caramelli, Eleonora Cerri Pecorella, Alessandro Cicoria, Christophe Constantin, Giovanni De Cataldo, Federica Di Carlo, Marco Fedele Di Catrano, Stanislao Di Giugno, Federica Di Pietrantonio, Marco Eusepi, Roberta Folliero, Shay Frisch, Alessandro Giannì, Luca Grimaldi, Felice Levini, H. H. Lim, Monica Lundy, Davide Manuli, Diego Miguel Mirabella, Alberto Montorfano, Lulù Nuti, Giorgio Orbi, Luca Maria Patella, Nicola Pecoraro, Alessandro Piangiamore, Donato Piccolo, Cesare Pietroiusti, Giuseppe Pietroniro, Alfredo Pirri / Polisonum, Daniele Puppi, Marco Raparelli, Andrea Salvino, Alessandro Sarra, Gabriele Silli, Donatella Spaziani - were invited to present a work designed for the space.
From 12.00 on Friday 29 October until midnight on Sunday 31 October, under the artistic direction of Giuliana Benassi, the Mandrione space will be an exceptional exhibition venue: between two lines of tension, the railway and the ancient Roman aqueduct, the public can visit the exhibition inside the building and in the surrounding area where the works are located in relation to or in contrast to the space that hosts them.
The participating artists are all linked to Rome as a city of choice and, varied in language and generation, tell in a different way their link with the city, through interaction with the chosen space.
Installation works, videos, paintings and sound and performance interventions will accompany the visitor along the exhibition path, day and night.
THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME is a contemporary art project born in Rome in 2014. From the fifth edition it is developed by the artists Giuseppe Pietroniro and Daniele Puppi together with Giuliana Benassi, supported by Pietroarco Franchetti. It aims to create a dialogue between artists, the territory and the public, through the construction of exhibitions in spaces and places always different.
