Visioni tra arte e natura in Italia (1964-2023)
We are delighted to share the participation of Michele Guido in the group show Terra animata. Visioni tra arte e natura in Italia (1964-2023)  at  Mattatoio, curated by Paola Bonani and Francesca Rachele Oppedisano.

The exhibition brings together some of the most significant examples of contemporary artists who have worked on the existing relationships between art, creativity, aesthetics and the natural territories that humans inhabit.
The selection, limited only to Italian artists, covers a chronological span from the 1960s to the present day, a period characterized by great changes in the perception of the relationship between nature and man, changes on which the visual arts have often reflected.
Since the 1960s, especially in the field of Arte Povera, the opening of artists' actions beyond the traditional realms of the artwork has led to the inclusion within the works of elements taken directly from reality. Some artists were then pioneers in initiating research focused on the relationship with nature and its processes of transformation. In the 1970s, agriculture and landscape became the subject of specific artistic practices, with the intention of investigating and verifying more human dimensions of production and spaces of attunement with the natural environment. The decade will close, as is well known, with the edition of the Venice Biennale dedicated to the theme From nature to art, from art to nature.
These practices have resumed with growing interest since the 1990s in parallel with the awakening of an ecological consciousness increasingly aware of the limits of a globalized world dominated by systems of mass production that burden the processes of transformation of all the territories that humans inhabit. In recent years, many young artists have undertaken multidisciplinary research in this area, bringing together artistic practices and scientific knowledge.
The works proposed for the exhibition explore, through different languages, themes related to the land and the landscape, investigating and returning its transformation and exploitation processes on the one hand, and its great value as a space of dreamlike, emotional, fairy-tale and poetic projections on the other.
