ALFREDO PIRRI | FARE COSE

curated by Cesare Biasini Selvaggi and Gianluca Collica, Fondazione Brodbeck - Catania, Italy
z2o Sara Zanin is pleased to announce the site-specific environmental installation by Alfredo Pirri at Fondazione Brodbeck, Catania, Italy.

Set up within the post-industrial spaces of a former licorice factory in the historic San Cristoforo district, the exhibition takes shape as a highly impactful site-specific project, capable of engaging deeply with the identity of the place. The monumental exhibition path weaves together historical works and new pieces into a single immersive narrative, where past and present merge in an ongoing reflection on the meaning of contemporary art.
Installations, paintings, sculptures, and projects guide visitors through a fully immersive perceptual experience, in which space becomes an integral part of the artwork. At the core of Pirri’s research is the relationship between art and architecture, understood as a tension between matter, light, and environment, a dialogue that transforms the artwork into a place to be traversed, rather than simply observed.
The use of materials tied to the Sicilian territory, such as Lentini tuff, contributes to creating new layers of meaning, offering a narrative that interweaves memory, landscape, and contemporary vision.
