Moscariello’s artistic practice revolves around perception and the ability of painting to destabilise the boundary between reality and artifice. Using trompe l'œil techniques, Moscariello creates images in which surface and depth, material and representation continuously overlap.

 

Luca Moscariello (San Giovanni in Persiceto, Bologna, 1980) lives and works in Sala Bolognese. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna in 2004. His most recent solo exhibitions include Il drappo e l’uva at Museo Lercaro, Bologna; Sublimi incertezze at Kappa Noun, San Lazzaro di Savena, with a presentation by L. Balbi and M. Paderni; Gerico at Fondazione Stelline, Milan; and Minime dinamiche di mimetizzazione at MAC – Museum of Contemporary Art, Lissone.

His work has also been presented in numerous group exhibitions in Italy and abroad, including at MuSa – Museo di Salò, TOMAV – Torre di Moresco Centro Arti Visive, MARCA – Museo delle Arti di Catanzaro, and Centrul de Interes in Cluj-Napoca.
